DKT has two distinct operations with nationwide coverage throughout India, India Mumbai and India Janani. These two operations work to expand access to contraceptives and family planning services through social marketing and network of clinics throughout the country.
India Mumbai, established in 1992, operates nationwide. It is one of the largest contraceptive social marketing programs in the world. India Janani was founded in 1996. Today, it operates clinics in the states of Bihar, Jharkhand, and Uttar Pradesh under the brand name of Surya Family Planning Clinics. It also implements contraceptive social marketing in those same three states and has expansion programs in Assam, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Orissa and West Bengal.
